LONDON OLYMPICS

The opening ceremony of the London Olympics 2012 took place last night in London, Great Britain. It was an amazing show where fire, light, history, culture, music and of course, sport coexisted for four hours. The city had been preparing this event for a lot of time and a lot of money has been invested in it (something that has been critisised by some people). The thing is that what we saw last night was the result of a lot of work and effort made by volunteers, workers, governement, athletes and many other people who devoted their time to the show.

                                             * I took this photo last summer when I was studying in London. 410 days left for the Olympics.

What most interested me last night was that the show was an overview of the history and culture of Great Britain. For people like me who are obsessed with this country and its language, it was moving to see how dancers, musicians and actors performed the history of a country. For people who are not keen on Great Britain , I guess it was an amazing show with a lot of cultural content.
