The correct way to say that would be " My sister has a messy life, she needs to settle down" Settle down means sentar la cabeza. You can also use "reconsider" or "think over something" as " recapacitar sobre algo, reconsiderar algo".
Make sense is "tener sentido" and you can use it in different ways:
- This sentence doesn't make sense
- This made a lot of sense
- I cannot make sense of this letter
